Overview
An amazing, creative family of five in Encino, CA, is seeking a seasoned, dedicated Family Assistant who can balance the ebbs and flows of an active household. The ideal candidate will easily pivot between household and child-related tasks, primarily those pertaining to the girls ages 11 and 14. The family has a nanny for their youngest, a boy aged 5, and a housekeeper who comes three times a week. The general schedule will be Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with some flexibility. Local candidates only.
Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:
- Manage family schedule/school calendars
- Set up organizational systems online and in the home office (labels, files)
- Schedule appointments, activities, and play-dates
- Shopping for household and children
- Drive children to/from activities
- Research extracurricular and summer programs
- Proactively facilitate indoor and outdoor activities
- Manage household vendors and schedule repairs as needed
- Manage household orders/inventory
- Organize and maintain children’s spaces
- Manage school pickups, activities, and evening routines
- Supervise/encourage homework and chores, set boundaries, enforce limitations
- Navigate conflict/facilitate calm
- Care for children when they’re not feeling well
Qualifications
- Self-starter who is passionate about being of assistance
- Previous experience working for a busy family in a hybrid role that included childcare
- Dedicated, responsible, and dependable
- Extremely organized and communicative
- Creative, nurturing, and motivating
- Proactive and ability to prioritize
- Patient and able to balance kindness with structure and limits
- Good at navigating conflict and keeping a calm house
- Available in an emergency
- Flexible with schedule
- The ability to speak Spanish is not required but would be a plus
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Trustline Certified
- Legal to work in the U.S.
Salary and Benefits
$40+ per hour depending on experience, PTO, and Medical reimbursement
