Overview
A private household in Pacific Heights, San Francisco is seeking an executive housekeeper to undertake cleaning, managing the household’s condition, and providing a professional level of service to the family. This position reports to the principals. The schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 9am-5pm (8 hour shifts). Additional hours may be offered if desired. The home is 7,000 sq. ft. with 4 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 2 offices, 1 playroom, and 1 gym.
Responsibilities
Undertake cleaning duties in all rooms of the home including bedrooms, bathrooms, living quarters, kitchen and bar areas, dining, garage, entry and foyer, playroom, gym, offices, entertainment areas, decks, hallways, other areas such as closets and pantries. Standard of cleaning:
- All floor surfaces shall be cleaned and prepared appropriately to cleaning standards, and free from dirt, dust, cobwebs
- All household furniture shall be kept clean and free from dust or dirt, including children’s playroom, on at least a weekly basis
- Pillows shall be fluffed and vacuumed for dust
- Drapery shall be vacuumed and cleaned on a regular basis, free from dust and dirt or cobwebs
- All baseboards, windows, stair railings, window sills, countertop surfaces, sinks, toilets, cabinetry, appliances shall be cleaned and free from dust
- All marble and stone shall be polished according to standards, with regular application of sealants and protectants for marble surfaces
- Small and large appliances shall be cleaned and maintained accordingly. Gentle cleaning condition for stainless and delicate surfaces
- All refuse shall be removed from rooms for disposal
- All spoiled items shall be disposed of as needed
- Ensure all dishes, including children’s, and kitchen appliances are clean and stored properly
- Ensure dog bowls and feeding areas are cleaned regularly, and dogs are presented with fresh water as needed
- Undertake all household laundry including atelier clothing, infant linens, children's clothing, dry cleaning, linens, dog bedding, bathroom rugs to be appropriately cleaned
- Clean and iron linens in all bedrooms and make beds in five primary suites, including two children’s suites. All sheets neatly pressed. 1x weekly
- Clean all kitchen linens such as napkins and neatly press. 1x weekly
- Prepare bathrooms, kitchen, gym with proper towel linens, 1-2x weekly
- Dry cleaning shall be dropped and retrieved with preferred cleaner. 2x monthly
- Clothing and linens shall be ironed or steamed accordingly. Line dry delicate items as needed. Line dry children and baby clothes as needed. Take care to use appropriate care on each item, as provided. 2x weekly
- All prepared linens and clothing shall be stored accordingly.
Undertake all specialty cleaning duties, including:
- Assist with cleaning of highchairs and children’s eating surfaces
- Assist with cleaning in the art room and ensure countertop surfaces are cleaned
- Assist with cleaning and vacuuming of strollers and carseats, as needed
- Present two automobiles with clean interiors and vacuumed on a weekly basis
- Perform specialty deep cleaning services as needed, including vacuuming all drawers, inside and atop cabinets, deep clean in the refrigerator, behind appliances
- Perform specialty polishing and furniture protection (staining, oil treatment, floor treatment) on an as-needed basis as determined by the principals
- Outdoor cleaning inclusive of entry way and steps, paver stones, children’s playhouse, outdoor sauna and bench seat, barbeque, and cushions to chairs shall be cleaned on at least a monthly basis.
Responsible for plant care
- Water and care for all household plants
- Refresh soil as needed
- Alert principals of plants that are in need of replacement or refresh
General administration
- Prepare and document refurbishment of cleaning supplies required to the principals or assistant on an ongoing basis to ensure cleaning duties can be performed
- Keep organized all cleaning supplies and specialty tools in the cleaning quarters and laundry rooms
- Assist to the principals, as needed, such as errands, light food preparation or sous chef assistance, extra assistance during parties, etc.

Salary and Benefits
- $52 per hour
