Overview
A kind and busy family of six based in Houston, TX is looking for a part-time chef/cook to be on-site two days per week, ideally Sunday and Wednesday (but there is some flexibility on days). The family loves all kinds of cuisines and would love to find someone who is comfortable making Mexican, Asian, and Indian food, if possible. There are no allergies in the home and the family eats a mostly organic diet (fresh produce, pasture raised meats, wild caught fish, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Cooking dinners for the family two nights on-site and then prepping dinners and lunches for multiple days to have in the fridge and freezer. For example, a salad and protein that keeps for the week for the principals and lunches for weekends for the children
- Occasionally helping with children's weekend lunches or breakfasts (overnight oats, energy balls, etc.)
- Keeping a clean and tidy kitchen
- Source and purchase local fresh produce and foods
- To ensure that the fridge and cupboard are stocked with staples
- To prepare and store meals for days when they aren't scheduled with the family
Qualifications
- Happy to work around children and willing to include the children occasionally (for example, a pizza night)
- To have knowledge of pre and postnatal nutrition would be a bonus but is not required
- Team-player and excellent communicator
Requirements
- Must be legal to work in the US
- Prior private home experience
- Diversity in cuisines
- Comfortable with a large friendly dog in the home
- A driver with their own car is required
