Overview
A busy family of 6 (principals and four school-aged children) seek a live-out chef to work between their Upper East Side and Locust Point homes. The schedule would be Wednesday through Sunday each week, with Wednesday and Thursday spent in Manhattan, and Friday through Sunday in Locust Point.
Responsibilities
The family enjoy a variety of food and would appreciate fresh, nutritious, and locally sourced ingredients. Duties will include:
- Being the point person for all food related stocking, purchasing, and planning for the residences
- Doing the breakdown and clean-up after meals
- Preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner - the family love Mediterranean-style meals
- Cooking for guests if required and, occasionally, for up to 20 or so people
- Travel for up to 8 weeks of the year to Aspen (where the position becomes live-in)
Requirements
- A team-player mentality is essential. The family are only interested in candidates who demonstrate a 'pitch-in' attitude and who enjoy a busy family dynamic
- Pet-friendly (the family have 3 much-loved dogs)
- Confident and safe driver
- Flexible approach and adaptable nature - there will likely be last minute changes (extra people turning up, or the whole family heading out)
- Extremely organised and calm, able to keep a level-head in a fast-moving household!
- Attention to detail and great at multi-tasking
Salary and Benefits
- $150,000+ pa gross, DOE - the rate will reflect the experience and skill-set of the hired candidate
