Overview
A family on the Upper East Side with two young teens seeks a part-time housekeeper/cook to work after school. The schedule would be Monday through Friday from 2/3pm-7pm with Fridays ending at 6pm. It would be about 20-25 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve healthy, gluten free, well balanced (protein, vegetable, starch, salad etc.) meals for the kids – fresh cooked dinner every night
- Plan ahead and put together grocery list at the end of the week (by Friday 5pm) for the following week
- Keep bedrooms and common rooms clean and tidy: kitchen, 3 bedrooms, living room, family room, foyer.
- Vacuuming, dusting, mopping, taking out trash and recycling, running dishwasher, putting dishes away, etc.
- Flagging cleaning/household supplies that may be needed
- Do laundry: wash, dry, iron shirts/pants as necessary, fold, put away
- Change, wash, and dry sheets on beds
- Go through refrigerator to organize and dispose of old and/or expired food
- Do deeper cleaning of a select room each week (wipe down doors and baseboards, vacuum under beds, move light furniture to vacuum/mop underneath, dust/vacuum lamp shades, vacuum bed headboards, empty and clean and arrange closets, etc.)
- Open boxes that arrive, putting things away
- Flag things that might need repairs, e.g., bulbs out, etc. and communicating with building staff
- Run quick errands in neighborhood (e.g., take dry cleaning, drop box off at UPS/post office)
- Pick-up missing groceries for meal prep as needed
- Water plants
- Light supervision of the teenagers during these hours
Requirements
- Must be legal to work in the US
- Fully vaccinated
- Does NOT need to drive
Salary and Benefits
The family is offering $45/hr. There are no benefits at this time, since its a part-time role.
