Role: Senior Sous Chef
Location: Chelsea, London
Salary: £50,000-£55,000 plus service charge
We are delighted to be working with our amazing luxury restaurant client who are looking to add a Senior Sous Chef to their team.
The Role:
As Senior Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee all culinary operations, ensuring the delivery of consistently high standards and exceptional dishes. This is a hands-on role, perfect for a talented chef with leadership skills, creativity, and a commitment to excellence. You will play a key role in mentoring the kitchen team, overseeing service, and contributing to menu development for our luxury dining offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Lead and inspire the kitchen team, promoting a positive, collaborative, and professional environment.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to standards.
- Assist in developing innovative and seasonal menus that reflect the luxury and creativity of our offering.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and kitchen cleanliness standards (HACCP).
- Train and mentor junior chefs, helping to develop their skills and careers.
- Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships to ensure cost control without compromising quality.
- Monitor kitchen operations to ensure dishes leave the pass in a timely and efficient manner.
- Step into the Head Chef’s role in their absence, providing seamless leadership and operational continuity.
About You:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef within a high-end, luxury property or Michelin-level restaurant.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and motivate a kitchen brigade.
- Exceptional culinary skills with an eye for detail and a passion for delivering innovative, high-quality dishes.
- Comprehensive understanding of kitchen operations, including stock control, ordering, and cost management.
- A collaborative and team-focused approach, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A creative mindset, eager to contribute to menu development and culinary innovation.
- Up-to-date food hygiene certification and strong knowledge of health & safety regulations.
