Role: Junior Sous Chef

Salary: £42,000-£45,000 plus service charge
We are delighted to be working with our amazing luxury restaurant client who are looking to add a Junior Sous Chef to their team.
Role Overview
The Junior Sous Chef will assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, overseeing a section, and leading the team to deliver consistently exceptional dishes. You will play a key role in maintaining food quality, operational efficiency, and ensuring high standards of cleanliness, creativity, and presentation are upheld.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to work with fresh, seasonal ingredients and showcase culinary expertise in a luxury dining setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including menu development, food preparation, and service.
- Lead and supervise a kitchen section, ensuring all dishes meet the highest standards of presentation and taste.
- Oversee junior chefs, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to develop their skills.
- Ensure efficient service during busy periods while maintaining a calm and professional approach.
- Contribute ideas to menu development, focusing on fresh, seasonal, and innovative cuisine.
- Uphold hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards in compliance with health and safety regulations (HACCP).
- Manage stock levels, assist with ordering, and monitor wastage to ensure cost efficiency.
- Assist in staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
About You
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef in a high-end restaurant, hotel, or luxury property.
- A passion for fresh, seasonal, and innovative cooking with an eye for detail.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate a team.
- A creative mindset with a commitment to maintaining exceptional culinary standards.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and hygiene standards.
- Culinary qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) are desirable.
- A positive, can-do attitude, and a genuine love for hospitality.
