Overview
A family with one 7-year-old child is seeking a full-time live-out Nanny/Tutor/Personal Assistant. The ideal schedule is Tuesday-Friday 12pm-7:30pm and Saturday 9am-7pm. They would request 1 late night per week with occasional overnight care when the parents are entertaining or away. Both parents are hands on, but they would like assistance keeping all child-related activities, school work, etc. organized and well-managed.
Responsibilities
- Engage in an academic after-school routine: overseeing daily practice of piano, reading, writing (practicing spelling), arithmetic, and creative thinking
- Transport to and from after school activities (the Mother will do this most of the time, but candidate to hire must be flexible and ready to help if needed)
- Manage after school homework, school folder, assignments, and child's email
- Organize and manage school calendar, events, and activities
- Chaperon play dates at the house, park, and beach
- A strong willingness and enthusiastic attitude to plan a fun and active day on Saturdays or days off from school
- Some correspondence is needed and candidate will need to act as liaison at times
- Communicating and notifying parents regarding scheduling and upcoming events, etc.
- Keep bedroom, toys, and art supplies well-organized and tidy
- Ensure child is practicing good hygiene, manners, social etiquette, and making healthy food decisions
- Assisting with preparing meals for child
- Child is very independent but will need assistance with the evening routine (being ready for bed)
- When the family is traveling, the candidate to hire must be flexible to travel with the family. If the child is missing school due to traveling, the candidate must be able to communicate with the school teacher to ensure the child is staying up on her academic assignments and be able to create and implement a similar curriculum based on what the child would be learning in the classroom
- When the child is at school, the role will focus more on Personal Assistant duties and assisting the Mother and/or Father with:
- Planning
- Scheduling appointments
- Booking reservations and flights
- Ordering/organizing/labeling household items
- Packing and unpacking for trips
- Errands to the market
- Assistance with dog care (including taking them to their vet and grooming appointments if needed)
Qualifications
- Strongly preferred: prior teaching/tutoring/education experience (5+ years)
- Strongly preferred: teaching credentials
- Bonus: bilingual in French or Spanish
- Bonus: can play the piano
Requirements
- CPR/First-Aid certified
- College degree
- Comfortable working closely with parents
- 5+ years nanny experience
- Discretion with screen time and social media: no watching TV with child unless it's a planned movie; no sharing of social media content/photos with child or of child; mindful phone use when with child, engaging with the child and not just on the phone while with the child

- Compensation to be determined based upon experience, education, and meeting or exceeding all role qualifications and requirements

- $150 flat rate for overnights
