Overview
A warm, kind family in Brooklyn are seeking a long-term, full-time career nanny for their infant, who will be 5-months-old in December, when the role is scheduled to start. Candidates may start as early as the beginning of December, or as late as the beginning of January 2025, when mom will be going back to work. The family have a newborn care specialist through the end of November, so their infant should be on a good sleep schedule by then. The schedule will be a guaranteed 50 hours per week, from 8am-6pm Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional care for the child, ensuring their safety, well-being and development.
- All typical nursery duties will apply (including very simple food prep/ laundry etc.) but the focus will be the child’s development above all else
- Collaborate with the parents on feeding, sleeping, and daily routines
- Design a schedule of activities (inside and outside the home) that foster creativity, help the child master fine and gross motor skills, language, numbers etc.
Qualifications
- Candidate should be warm, with a genuine love for children.
- Candidates who educate/explain their recommended course of action but also asks for the parents’ input, will thrive in this role - communication is key.
- Must have at least 5-10 years' verifiable experience
- Candidates should have an educational background in Child Development/ECE or other relevant field
- Candidates should have a solid understanding of developmental milestones
Requirements
- US passport, Green Card or EAC
- Due to the age of the child, the family would like candidates to be up to date on their COVID, Flu, Tdap, and MMR vaccines, if possible.
- Have extensive infant care experience, be warm and welcoming and possess a respectful demeanor
- Candidates must be CPR/First Aid certified and be non-smokers
- Candidates must be available to start in December
Salary and Benefits
- $35-$50 + healthcare stipend ($600/month)
- Metrocard - contribution of $200/month
- 4 weeks PTO (2 weeks chosen by the candidate, 2 weeks chosen by the family)
