Overview
A warm, kind family in Brooklyn Heights is seeking a passionate, live-out career nanny for their 6 month-old. The schedule will be Monday through Thursday, from 8am to 6pm and the family will guarantee 40 hours per week, even when they travel domestically to see family and do not bring the candidate with them, which might happen a few times per year.
Responsibilities
- Meal prep (very limited at present) for the baby only, light housekeeping related to the baby, laundry for the baby only, helping with nursery/bedroom organization, keeping baby’s supplies stocked, circulating any wardrobe items she’s outgrown, planning enriching activities for her, having fun with her (she loves music and dancing!), taking her to parks and getting her outdoors, maintaining her routine, and generally pivoting as required.
- Their daughter is curious and highly active, so candidates must be able to keep up with her and meet her where she’s at developmentally
Qualifications
- An educational background in Child Development, ECE or other related field is a huge plus, but passion for childcare and a deep love for children is most important
- Have an interest in growing with the family as they grow - they intend to have another baby in due course so experience working with infants and toddlers in tandem is a huge plus
- A clean driving record and current driving license is a plus, but not essential.
Requirements
- Work seamlessly and harmoniously with the parents - they both work outside of the home but want to be kept in the loop on all aspects of their daughter’s care - this is hugely important to them and so superlative communication skills are key
- Professionalism, excellent manners, high EQ, kindness and a caring nature are highly valued in this household
- Open, clear and articulate communication is very important to the parents - conflict resolution is something they believe can be easily achieved with open discussions/ transparent communication
- Be COVID vaccinated and up to date on tDap, RSV, MMR and Flu vaccinations.
- Be CPR certified
- US passport, Green Card or EAC
- Be available to start in early January

- $40/hr + monthly stipend for insurance
