Overview
A loving family in New York is seeking a temporary live-in newborn care specialist to help with their new baby who was born 4 weeks early. The schedule for this role is 20/7, seven days per week- the NCS should be available as soon as possible through the last week of August. There may be some travel in this role, so the NCS should be willing and able to join the family as needed.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the baby is on a feeding routine; the baby is currently taking both formula and breast milk
- Prioritizing the safety and well-being of the baby at all times
- Provide professional guidance as it pertains to baby care while respecting the family’s personal preferences
- Encourage healthy sleep habits and follow safe sleep guidelines
- Light housekeeping related to the baby (his laundry, bottle-washing, etc.) when time allows
Qualifications
- Experience with premature babies, colic, and constipation/digestion
- Age-appropriate engagement of the baby that encourages meeting of developmental milestones including walks outside, playing music, and reading to baby
- Knowledgeable and supportive, able to guide new parents
- Ideal candidate can step right in and see what needs to be done while offering recommendations and advice in a kind way
- Flexible, polite with good manners, discreet, and professional
- The ability to speak Russian or Ukrainian would be a bonus
Requirements
- Must have at least 5 years' verifiable experience working as a newborn care specialist
- Must have experience working long-term 20/7 shifts
- Excellent verifiable references
- Willing to share a sleeping area with the baby if needed
- US passport, Green Card or EAC
- Up to date on Flu/RSV/Tdap and MMR vaccinations
- Passport ready and willing to travel, if required
- Experience working in a fully-staffed home
- Comfort with a dog in the home
