Overview
A lovely family in Manhattan is seeking a full-time nanny to join their nanny team caring for their 2-year-old and 4-year-old children. The family is relocating to NYC and requests that the nanny live-in for the first 3 months to help transition the kids to the area while the other nanny is on leave. After the first 3 months of live-in, the candidate can choose to remain live-in, or live-out. The general schedule during the first 3 months will be Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm. The family requests either every Saturday, or every other Saturday during this time, until the other nanny returns from her leave, after which the position will be Monday-Friday. This position starts ASAP, and the family is hoping to make a hire in the next couple of weeks for a start date of December 30th. Only candidates who are available immediately will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Full childcare, caring for the children's health, well-being, and education, while also being playful and creating an engaging environment.
- Maintaining the schedule and routine, planning active and engaging activities
- Planning age-appropriate and developmental activities, play dates, and outings to keep kids engaged and off screens during the day
- Coordinating schedules for naps and meals, activities, and travel
- Preparing snacks and meals
- Managing the tidiness and organization of child spaces and belongings
- Child-related light housekeeping when needed
- Coordinating with the other nanny to create cohesive and consistent care
Qualifications
- Someone who can engage the kids in STEM activities
- Knowledge of, or fluent in, Spanish is ideal
- Someone with really high energy - the kids are always dancing and running, must be able to keep up
- Experienced
- Someone who has the balance of bubbly/energetic, and calm/centered
- Creative
- Able to follow the parents philosophies
- Experience potty training toddlers
- Positive attitude
Requirements
- Must have at least 6 years of professional nanny experience with references
- Must be able to start by December 30th
- Must live-in for at least the first 3 months
- Team player with excellent communication
- Able to follow the family’s preferred communication and parenting style
- Must be reliable, dedicated, and have a strong work ethic
- Spanish speaking ideal
- Infant/child CPR and First-Aid certified, or willing to certify
- Legal to work in the US
Salary and Benefits
- Hourly rate is $35-$50, based on experience
