Overview
A kind couple living in Walnut Creek, CA are seeking a local newborn care specialist for nights starting mid-October (due date October 14). The schedule will be 5-7 nights per week. The desired schedule is from 9pm-7am but they are flexible on this. The contract will be for approximately 16 weeks. As new parents, they are looking forward to finding someone who can educate them on baby sleep, feeding, routines, and milestones. They hope to have a positive, collaborative working arrangement and believe people bring their best to work when they are treated with respect.
Responsibilities
- Prioritizing the safety and well-being of the baby at all times
- Providing practical tools, as well as general support and assistance, where possible (given the nighttime schedule) to create and maintain an effective sleep and feeding schedule that the parents can continue beyond 16 weeks
- Keeping the baby's spaces stocked, organized, and tidy. NCS and baby will have their own designated nursery and space.
- Provide professional, evidence-based guidance on childhood development as it pertains to baby’s care, while respecting the family’s personal preferences

Requirements
Must have at least 5 years of experience as a newborn care specialist
US passport, Green Card, or EAC
COVID vaccinated and up to date on Flu/RSV/Tdap and MMR vaccinations
Ability to work nights
Have local housing and access to own transportation to/from residence to have independence. This position is not paying for relocation.
Availability to work the full term (holidays at candidate's preference - see below)
Must be ok with dogs. The dogs will be kept in parents' bedroom overnight but there are multiple friendly 35 lb dogs
Salary and Benefits
$45-75 per hour depending on certifications and experience
Due to the contract falling on Halloween, Thanksgiving, and winter holidays, the family is open to paying the candidate for holiday coverage OR giving candidate time off at candidate's preference.
