Overview
A busy, private family on the Upper East Side of Manhattan is seeking a fantastic weekend nanny for their 4 children to start ASAP. The general schedule for this position is Saturday and Sunday from 9 am until 8 pm . This is a busy household where one parent is a physician so flexibility is required. The family travels to their other residence in Long Island frequently, especially during Summers, and the nanny will be required to join when on duty.
Responsibilities
- The primary focus in this role will be the infant twins, but willingness and ability to help with the older boys (ages 7 and 10) is required if needed, including Saturday evening when the parents are out, though they have their own primary childcare.
- This is a staffed home and the candidate should have experience in a similar environment- they must be a team-player and understand how to interact with other staff in a professional manner.
- Job responsibilities include day-to-day care for the twins- keeping them on regimented sleep schedules, making sure hygiene is kept up, managing daily routines and mealtimes, pro-actively planning and prepping all meals, and monitoring their physical and mental development. Job duties will also include light housekeeping related to the children- laundry, dishes and bottle sanitizing, meal prep clean up, organizing and cleaning of the babies' clothing, belongings, and bedroom, as well as any other duties that fall within that scope.
- Ability to pitch-in and help where needed is required (ex: emptying the dish washer, tidying up kitchen).
Qualifications
- Candidates should have strong experience with infants and toddlers and should feel confident caring for multiple children simultaneously.
- The family is seeking a nanny who is extremely safety conscious, with an understanding of early childhood development and strong communication skills.
- The ideal candidate will be engaging, energetic, and highly organized, with an eye for detail.
- Experience and familiarity with allergic reactions and Epipens is a major plus, if not willingness to learn is a requirement.
Requirements
- The accommodations for this role include a private bedroom and bathroom in the main residence and private bedroom with shared bathroom in the weekend home.
- The candidate should be dog friendly, and while no pet care is required, they would love to find a nanny who enjoys being around their dog.
- The ability to swim would be ideal but is not required.
- Candidates must have an up-to-date COVID vaccine and be willing to take precautions such as regular testing and masking when needed.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification is required.
Salary and Benefits
- $35-$40 per hour but flexible for the right person
