A private family seeks to hire a detail-oriented live-in yearound Housekeeper to perform cleaning and organizing duties in a private home in Bridgehampton, NY. To succeed in this position, the hired candidate must have a team player mentality and must have great attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a “can-do” attitude and experience working in a formal private home setting. Prior experience with high-net-worth families and individuals is most ideal.
Schedule: Monday – Friday. When the principals are in residence the schedule requires working Sunday – Thursday. The couple is only in residence for 3 – 4 months spread throughout the year. The position is year-round. Hours: 8 AM – 4 PM Flexibility to work overtime when family is in residence. Benefits: Full benefits package including health insurance, vacation, sick days, 401K, and overtime pay after 40 hours.
Responsibilities:
- General Housekeeping: Perform daily cleaning and organization of all areas in the home, including bedrooms, bathrooms, common areas, and kitchen.
- Laundry & Wardrobe Care: Manage laundry duties, including washing, ironing, folding, and wardrobe maintenance.
- Event Support & Service: Assist with dinner service, beverage service, and special event preparation, ensuring guests receive impeccable service.
- Coordination with Chef: Collaborate with the Chef to coordinate meal services, table settings, and event setup and breakdown.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Housekeeper other household staff to maintain a well-organized and smoothly run household in season.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in a private residence.
- Utmost sense of confidentiality and discretion.
- Excellent references from current and previous employers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal (English).
