Overview
A kind and loving family in Greenwich, CT, is seeking a full-time live-out career nanny for their toddler son to start asap. The general daily schedule will be 8 am-4 pm. The family is open from 9 am-5 pm if preferred. Some weeks, the family will ask to add an hour or shift the schedule from time to time with an earlier start or end time. Advance notice will be given for these changes. They are ideally looking for a nanny who will stay with them for years and become part of their family. Occasional weekend and evening coverage would be appreciated if the nanny would like additional hours. The position will be 75% childcare and 25% light housekeeping/family assisting. Usually, the final hour of the day will be for tidying up and light housekeeping. There is someone who comes once a week to do deep cleaning.
Responsibilities
- Full childcare for an active and happy toddler boy including providing a warm, stimulating, and loving environment for him as he grows
- Coordinating schedules for naps, meals, and activities
- Helping with child-related meal preparation and baby dishes
- Managing the tidiness and organization of the child's spaces and belongings including vacuuming
- Child-related laundry and ironing
- Some family laundry which will mostly be folding clean clothes
Qualifications
- Highly educated and knowledgeable about child development
- Engaging and creative with activities that do not include screentime
- Proactive, excellent communicator, and someone who takes initiative, for example researching new learning activities and recipe ideas
- Driver's license preferred but the family is located in a very walkable neighborhood
- Happy to partner with a work-from-home mother and tech-savvy to communicate with involved parents
- Open to future travel with the family
Requirements
- Experience with toddlers and preschool age children
- Commuting distance from Greenwich (5-minute walk from the train station)
- Strong references
- Legal to work in the US
Salary and Benefits
- $30-40 per hour
- Standard benefits including 10 days of PTO and sick days
