Overview
A family on the Upper West Side is seeking a part-time afternoon nanny to start as soon as possible. There are 3 children ages 10, 7, and 4-years-old. The family has a full-time nanny of 9 years and the Mother is a stay-at-home parent, but they are seeking an additional part-time nanny to help with the after-school schedule. The children attend school on the Upper East Side. The days would be Monday through Thursday from 2:30pm-8:30pm with flexibility to stay late (1-2x/week perhaps every other week). The candidate must reside in the area, not Brooklyn or Queens, due to the late nights.
Responsibilities
- Taking the children to after-school activiities; for this role the nanny will generally have 1 child at a time to transport to/from activities, but when watching the children on the occasional late night evening the nanny will have all 3
- Walking the children to/from activities (must be able to walk 10-15 blocks each way)
- Riding the bus with the children
- Playing with the children
- Helping with homework
- Meal prep for the children and cleaning up after meals
- Being physically involved; I.E., on the playground, playing soccer for fun, etc.
- Interacting and engaging with the children
- Helping to clean up their toys
- Putting the children to bed when working later at night
Qualifications
- Mature attitude/conduct
- Patient and can read the room if children are tired/grumpy, etc.
- Creative, kind, warm, happy, caring, responsible, reliable, and fun
- Someone who enjoys children and playing with them
- Not someone who is on their phone while working, but active with the children and engaging
Requirements
- Fluent in English
- Active and energetic; able to walk children frequently to/from activities
- Can cook for children
- Dresses professionally (I.E, not crop tops, short skirts, etc.)
