Overview
A lovely couple who splits their time between Miami and Boston will be expanding their family. They are looking for a full-time, live-in nanny for their newborn who is due to arrive the first week of November. Mom will be delivering in Boston; therefore, the position will start in Boston for approximately 2 months. The family will have an NCS for the first few months, however they would like the nanny on-boarded as well to provide coverage as needed and ensure consistency. The family is generally in Miami from October through June and in Boston June through September. Thanksgiving through Christmas is spent in Boston. Mom will be hands-on, stay at home, and this will be a collaborative role. The projected schedule will be Tuesday through Saturday with later start and end times on Friday and Saturday for an average of 40 to 55 hours per week. Flexibility will be required as this is a new position, and the exact needs will become more apparent once the day to day can be established. This is a long-term role beyond the infant stage.
Responsibilities
Included but are not limited to:
- Collaboratively work with NCS and family
- Full-charge care of infant
- Ensuring well-being and safety of child at all time
- Maintain all schedules including sleeping and eating
- Meal plan/prep/food weaning
- Child-related housekeeping duties such as laundry, organization, and sterilization of bottles
- Pack/unpack and all travel related planning and prep
- Engage in playtime activities
- Track, log and assist with reaching developmental milestones
- Provide a stimulating and nurturing environment
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role with full-charge care beyond infancy
- Understanding of infant/child development and ability to recognize and respond to infants needs
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work flexible hours as needed
- Warm, friendly personality with the ability to read the room
- Ability to provide structure and consistency in a loving and kind manner
- Team-player and collaborative mindset with the ability to also take charge
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (eventually)
- Current CPR certification
- Current vaccinations – MMR, Tdap
- Strong swimmer and comfortable in and around water
- Excellent communication skills and command of the English language
- Energetic with strong stamina
- Ability to speak another language is a Plus, but is not required
