Overview
A family is seeking an experienced and nurturing full-time live-in nanny for their baby who will be 7-months-old when the role begins in September. Their primary residence is in Armonk, NY (Westchester County) but they will reside in Manhattan a few days each week (perhaps 2-3 overnights a week). The schedule will be Monday through Friday 7 am or 8 am-7 pm making it 55-60 hours per week with overtime as applicable by law.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the baby's milestones and early childhood development
- Baby's laundry
- Eventually baby's meal prep (he will be introduced to solids eventually; the Mother currently nurses so the nanny will need to bottle-feed the baby currently)
- Walks/going to the park
- Playing with the baby
- Reading to the baby
- Cleaning up after baby (including cleaning/sanitizing nursing pump parts that the Mother currently utilizes)
- Preparing what the baby will wear the next day
- Keeping an inventory of baby's clothes/diapers/wipes, etc., and flagging when he needs something or supplies that need to be purchased
- Keeping the baby's room and play spaces clean and tidy
- Bonus: on occasion, taking the dog (a 50-pound hypoallergenic Aussiedoodle) to his doggy daycare; ideally picking him up from doggy daycare as well.
Qualifications
- Warm, loving, and caring toward baby
- Flexible
- Seeking longevity in a role; for example, the family would love someone for 10 years if possible to grow with the child
- Someone wanting to become part of the family
- Energy to keep up with an eventual toddler
- Team player and proactive (for example, unloading the dishwasher if it needs to be done; the family has house cleaners, but keeping things tidy is desired)
- Someone who engages with the child doesn't use screen time for the baby or is overly distracted on a phone
- Understanding of childhood development and milestones
- Knows when to "step in and step out" letting the Mother spend time with the baby even during the nanny's working hours
Requirements
- Must love dogs
- Must be a licensed driver with a clean driving record (nanny will have use of the family vehicle when working)
Salary and Benefits
- Private bedroom and bathroom on the main floor in Armonk; parents and child will be on separate floors
- Manhattan accommodations are still being figured out as they haven't rented a place there yet
- $32-35+/hour depending on years of experience and qualifications with significant overtime paid (15-20 hours weekly of overtime on average). The general compensation annually will approximately be in the $100k-120k range.
- Monthly healthcare stipend
- 2 weeks' vacation
- Major holidays off
